Ensure fair pay for all workers

A fair day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay. Yet millions labor from sunrise to exhaustion and still cannot afford rent, food, or medicine. This is not a failure of effort—it is a failure of justice. The minimum wage, stagnant and eroded by time, no longer sustains life. We must act.

No economy can thrive when its workers are too poor to participate in it. When wages rise, so does productivity, health, and economic growth. Pay people what they deserve, and watch a nation rise. Project 2029 is determined to make wage growth a reality for millions of Americans by:

  1. Restoring and amending the framework of Executive Order 14026 to increase the minimum wage for all federal contractors to $25 an hour. This will not only benefit the millions of people who work for the Federal government (which is the largest employer in the U.S.), but also indirectly encourage higher starting salaries for similar non-governmental positions aiming to attract candidates from the same talent pools.

  2. Restoring Executive Order 14069 to enhance pay equity and transparency within federal contracting. This order directs the Federal Acquisition Regulatory Council to implement rules that prevent federal contractors and subcontractors from considering a worker’s past or current compensation in any employment decision. It also requires contractors to disclose compensation or pay ranges in job announcements for positions related to federal contracts.

  3. Supporting significant raises to the federal and state-level minimum wages.
